Ολοκληρώνουμε τις παρουσιάσεις των κόμικς τής Ντίσνεϋ, που κυκλοφόρησαν στην Αμερική αυτήν την εβδομάδα, με το τεύχος 737 τού αμερικανικού Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories. Πάμε να του ρίξουμε μια ματιά, με βάση την επίσημη προεπισκόπηση από την IDW.
Το τεύχος κυκλοφορεί με τρία διαφορετικά εξώφυλλα.
Το τεύχος ξεκινά με την ιστορία The Big Wind, σε σενάριο και σχέδιο William Van Horn. Η ιστορία δεν έχει δημοσιευτεί στην Ελλάδα.
Ακολουθεί η ιστορία Whitewash, σε σενάριο και σχέδιο Noel Van Horn. Η ιστορία δημοσιεύτηκε στην Ελλάδα στο Κόμιξ 303 με τον τίτλο ο φράχτης τής Μίννι.
Το τεύχος κλείνει με την ιστορία Riverboat ‘Round the Bend, σε σενάριο Pat McGreal και Carol McGreal και σχέδιο Daniel Branca. Η ιστορία δεν έχει δημοσιευτεί στην Ελλάδα.
Αυτόν τον μήνα έχουμε τρεις δανέζικες ιστορίες βορειοαμερικανών δημιουργών, καθώς μόνο το σχέδιο τής τελευταίας ιστορίας είναι από τον νοτιοαμερικανό Branca. Δανέζικες είπαμε; Χμ…

Paper prices went up, and I couldn’t be more disappointed… we published 40-page issues for as long as I could possibly manage it…

My standard closing of «40 pages at the special price of $3.99» (which I guess will now have to be changed to «32 pages», etc.,) is actually a bit sarcastic, as US comic books are a bit on the expensive side for us Greeks. For comparison, the Greek Super Mickey magazine, with 132 pages of a size similar to that of US comic books, costs €2.90 ($3.11), while the more expensive Komix, relying on its reputation, costs €3.50 ($3.76) for a measly 100 pages. The smaller-sized Mickey Mouse, also with 132 pages, costs a mere €1.90 ($2.04).
Of course, the costs of distribution in Greece and in the US are two different beasts altogether and, although Disney comics seem to be on a decline in Greece, I am sure that more comic books are sold in Greece than in the entire US, which helps offset the cost of printing.
